Given its potential benefit in migraine, it is quite reasonable to try it for vestibular migraine prophylaxis. Take between 100 to 150 mg of Pycnogenol daily.
The dose for migraine control is 600 mg twice a day. For the best antioxidant benefit, combine it with vitamin C 500 mg and vitamin E 200 IU.
Melatonin could also be used as a rescue medication; taking 5 mg and going to sleep can abort a migraine attack.
The goal for migraine control should be approximately 500 mg daily.
Magnesium glycinate (also called di- or bis-glycinate) has good bioavailability. Glycine may be helpful for sleep in those with insomnia. Furthermore, the incidence of diarrhea and gastrointestinal upset is low. I typically recommend using magnesium glycinate for vestibular migraine.
Magnesium (or di-magnesium) malate has good bioavailability. As an added benefit, malic acid may improve pain levels in fibromyalgia.
