One core piece of the Web3 vision is "composable data" - the idea that the information that powers our online experiences can be shared, used, and 'composed on' by applications across the web. This is in contrast to today's model, where data are primarily trapped in application-specific siloes.

web1 -> web 2.0 -> web3 is about progressively giving more power+ownership to the community. web1: centralized content + ownership (Zagat, Encarta, Yahoo directories, etc) web2: UGC (Yelp, Flickr,..) but centrally owned+governed. web3: community has both ownership+governance.

Web3 is the first time, with the help of great developers like Duncan on our team, an artist can actually build a space that's interoperable on the internet that can handle funds and can handle communities. That's super exciting.
