Vajrayana is not Tibetan Buddhism (and vice versa) | Vividness
NR The aspect of Vajrayana that is dangerous, is really only the aspect which involves vows – and the effects of breaking those vows. There is a level of tantric involvement which investigates the borders of sanity and insanity; and certainly, this needs careful preparation.
the Vajrayana does not involve daydreaming, fantasizing, and concocting exotic experiences.
That is why Tantra could never become understood by the masses. And it always happens that when you cannot understand a thing, at least you will misunderstand, because then you can feel, “Okay, I understand.” You cannot simply remain in the vacuum.
Vajrayana is not ‘an answer’ or ‘an antidote’ – it is an endless process of opening to the nondual texture of existence.
The other vehicles, such as the Mahayana, address the weakness of sentient beings by deliberately employing the dualistic concepts of right and wrong. In these other vehicles you will see safety measures, rules, clear directions, signposts, benchmarks, indicators. They are safe; they provide clear direction.
