Religions create sheep. When you know for yourself, you are your own authority. You don’t need any confirmation. Who cares what I or anyone else knows? Be a lion. Once you know who you are, God is not going to convince you of anything different.

Our cultural and religious systems instill ignorance and subservience.

you have to come to your own knowing. It doesn’t matter what I know. What is important is what you know for yourself.

Freedom is not needing to know anything like that at all. It is the end of all that type of questioning. The only thing that is really needed is to be honest. If I am being honest, I have to say there is no past, there is no future, and there is no self.

When we see this whole concept of me (this self story that we think is going to die), is just a story, then there’s not much fear about it dying.

I may have felt the need to put my opinions out there in order to be the one who “knew.” That way of being, however, is aggressive and not compassionate. Coming to know you lack nothing means knowing you don’t need to be the one who knows or the one who is right.

Most people need some kind of security, which is why all of these concepts about what happens after death have been created. If belief in a soul gives your family some comfort during this time, I would support them in that belief. This stark sense of not needing to have that false security is not for everyone.

Anything other than this knowing that is now has to be a concept or a belief.
