Subject-matter experts are those people with knowledge about how to do things better. They have something to offer an industry or a sector.
The tell channel is mainly about content. The show channel is mainly about concept. The ask channel is mainly about context.
You need to do the thinking — create the intellectual property and turn it into activities that will make a contribution to people. It is then up to you to sell these services or products,
You need to know more than the obvious answer to any given questions. You need to be able to create new insights and repurpose old insights so that they are relevant. This is thought leadership.
Your job as a thought leader is to think, sell, and deliver.

Tell — where you deliver great ideas through stories and examples. Show — where you deliver great ideas through a learning process. Ask — where you deliver by asking questions that lead people to your ideas.
