The Somatic Cost of Not Being Believed
suppressing the experience and expression of emotion, cutting off interoceptive awareness, and in general denying and dissociating from one’s embodied self-awareness. Some methods of being out of touch with embodied self-awareness, however, seem like just the opposite.
The cure for both the naive woman and the instinct-injured woman is the same: Practice listening to your intuition, your inner voice; ask questions; be curious; see what you see; hear what you hear; and then act upon what you know to be true.
