Writing is a beautiful and tender invitation to stay with the story. To reimagine the ending. To play a role in shaping it.
What is true at a certain point in time doesn’t necessarily stay true. As our words evolve, so do we. As we evolve, so do our words. And as we read back over words we’ve written, we get to see how far we’ve come.
When you make space; slow down enough to process; and write down facts, thoughts, and feelings, you will inevitably let loose your own hot air balloon, and you will be amazed at the new perspective you find. This is your “narrator voice.”
pain is not inherently bad. Pain just points us toward what’s wrong.
Result: What was the outcome of my chosen action?
The act of focusing our attention on a single thing (or at least attempting to do so) reveals to us how distracted we’ve been all along.
Writing can help us break the control that our stories often have over us.
Writing down the elements of your life as if they are a story—and thinking of yourself as the hero of that story—gives you greater perspective.
The act of putting words on the page is a metaphor for the way we put our two feet into our lives—meaning
