The middle is the hardest part. I haven't run a marathon, but I'm told miles 13-15 are the worst. (I think I understand that analogy though because I always have trouble finding the mental energy to get past World 4 of Super Mario 3.)

The middle is the hardest part because a Creative is, by nature, obsessed with ideas. They are fueled by them. Ideas are the whole reason you started. Once the idea becomes familiar it is much less attractive.

If you are a Creative, at some point, you will absolutely hate what you've made. It is usually accompanied by a cooing voice in the back of your head telling you to just jump ship. Remember this - anything you do must be redone. Painters don’t try and work around their first few brush strokes, they go over them. The first coat is just a foundation.

Rarely is creativity a birthing of something completely new and original. More often, it's just improving (or reworking) what already exists.
