Most people aren’t lucky enough to get fired and die a slow spiritual death over 30–40 years of tolerating the mediocre.
All courses of action are risky, so prudence is not in avoiding danger (it’s impossible), but calculating risk and acting decisively. Make mistakes of ambition and not mistakes of sloth. Develop the strength to do bold things, not the strength to suffer.
By working faithfully eight hours a day, you may eventually get to be a boss and work twelve hours a day.
