Ten things you must do if you want to rediscover who you really are:
To ask yourself, What do I love? What drives me? What of that could I use to have an impact? Take an inventory. When do you do your best thinking? At the gym? On a walk? While doing the dishes? Give yourself a break from your routine where your mind is cluttered with the next task you’re trying not to forget.
You have to imagine your own death. When your time comes, what will you regret not doing? What will you wish you had more time to do, and what will have seemed trivial? Think of what you fear losing—those are the things that matter most.
Meditation helps here. But so does going on unplanned walks to see where they lead you, using a different route to get to work, taking up photography or birdwatching or nature drawing or keeping a journal, playing I Spy with a child: anything that draws your attention more fully into what you’re doing in the present.
