In a digital world where our lives are increasingly cluttered and superficial, we’re missing something tremendously powerful: genuine human connection. People are going to be most invested in that which creates a sense of intimacy, warmth, and shared meaning in a world that would otherwise relegate them to a statistic.

This near-death experience also gave me a new vision for how humans can coexist with artificial intelligence. Yes, this technology will both create enormous economic value and destroy an astounding number of jobs. If we remain trapped in a mindset that equates our economic value with our worth as human beings, this transition to the age of AI will

rather than transforming transactions into human relationships, they’ve done the opposite. Mediated by these platforms, human interactions come to feel more like transactions. Ultimately, they have reduced us to mere Consumers again, in this case not just of online content or even the products of corporations, but of each other.
