Only service to others gives us the opportunity to experience autonomy and belonging at the same time.

Simply remembering that corporations were invented should alone empower us to reinvent them to our liking.

If nothing else, living in a digital media environment should help us become more aware of the programming all around us. We should be able to recognize the suburbs as an experiment in social control through isolation, and corporatism as an effort to stunt bottom-up prosperity.

The people with whom we disagree are not the real problem here. The greatest threats to Team Human are the beliefs, forces, and institutions that separate us from one another and the natural world of which we are a part.

the person who can’t see a human being behind the mask of intolerance is weaker than the one who can.

We’re discovering a collective sensibility that’s more dimensional and participatory than the unconsciously formed communities of the past.

When the individual’s needs are balanced with those of the collective, things stay in balance. But when people are understood as self-interested individuals in competition against one another for survival and dominance, we get into trouble.

Retrieval matters. Without retrieval, all our work and innovation is just research and development for the existing, repressive system.

If we respond to crisis in a polarized way, we surrender to the binary logic of the digital media environment.
