It is about identifying the structure of your work and life—what you are committed to, what you want to change, and where you want to go. It is about organizing information in such a way that it supports and calls into being the future life you want to lead.
Ideally you will want to find an image, a symbolic gesture, or visual language to underscore each of your pillars and your master narrative. To do that, take a look at your master narrative and your three pillars and answer the following questions for each: What images or visuals best illustrate the theme or point you are trying to make?
It all starts with your Vision. The Vision must be regarded as the central aim that enrolls the support of all your team members. It inspires them to do the things they have to do to meet their own individual goals.
“I believe in starting each project with a stated goal. Sometimes the goal is nothing more than a personal mantra such as ‘keep it simple’ or ‘something perfect’ or ‘economy’ to remind me of what I was thinking at the beginning if and when I lose my way. I write it down on a slip of paper and it’s the first thing that goes into the box.”
