I wonder: how to distinguish general dynamics/things/patterns from dances? What makes something a dance?

I'm thinking a ton about how to make a religion out of a truth-seeking community. An individualist religion, where people are trying to navigate and model the world together, rather than accepting past ancestors facts just out of faith.
