Don’t fill your stomach. Less is more when it comes to eating for long life, too. According to the 80 percent rule, in order to stay healthier longer, we should eat a little less than our hunger demands instead of stuffing ourselves.
People who live longer would need more energy to perform more maintenance (DNA repair, cellular regeneration, etc.). People who live longer would need to get better at utilizing energy to increase protection against aging and maintaining normal function for longer.
But then I learned about the “Blue Zones,” the communities that live the longest—Okinawans in Japan, Sardinians in Italy, Costa Ricans, and Seventh-Day Adventists.
