I agree. OpenAI and Meta are waiting for the delivery of the new Nvidia Chips to start training the next version of GPT and LLaMa respectively. A pause in development would not do any good. A suggested benefit for a pause would be to focus research on alignment. I think we would have to create a regulatory mandate for alignment for it to be effective.
