Normal Christianity: If Jesus is normal, what is the Church?

There is no tension between light and dark. They are incompatible. They do not cohabitate; light displaces darkness.

If the freedom that you are walking in leads you into sin, rather than away from it, you are getting your freedom from a source other than Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

“love is the fulfilling of the law.” It is the rule for fulfilling all rules, the new commandment for keeping all the old commandments, Christ’s one secret of the Christian life.3

“Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). In the midst of all that pain, He did not allow unforgiveness to creep into His heart.

It is the job of the Holy Spirit to convince you when you have committed a sin. It is not His job to beat you and make you feel terrible.

Although God is sovereign, it is not His number one attribute.

Freedom comes from the unconditional love that God has for us, whereas legalism comes from fear and control.

I am conscious of the sad fact that there are many people familiar with Coca-Cola, even in deeply remote areas, who have never heard the name of Jesus.

To restore something is to put it back in the place it was before the loss.
