Repentance is when you detect and destroy the rationalizations that lead to your sin. It’s changing your mind about those lies.

Confession is to say the same thing about your sin that God says.

Until you can answer with certainty about what God is specifically working on, you won’t make a lot of progress.

“Lord, here it is. Here’s my chance to work on these things.”

When we are truly right with God, we want to be right with others. It’s the natural next step.

If there is no restitution, there has been no true repentance. If there is no true repentance, worshiping God is a farce.

Regret is a useless emotion; it produces nothing. Regret focuses on what can never change. Repentance focuses on what has to change.

If you are truly serious about personal transformation, you must be willing to ask “What’s the next step? What’s the specific thing that God Almighty is working on in me today?”

God loves us. Yes, He surely does. Absolutely, but it’s not some pampering love—it’s a perfecting love. It’s a love that wants our highest and best usefulness for His purposes.
