Wisdom is the application of knowledge and facts. Wisdom is realizing you know nothing. Wisdom is saying, “My mind is open. Wherever I am, I’m just beginning. There is more to be realized by a hundred-foldthen what I know.” That’s the beginning of wisdom.

We think much less than what we know. We know much less than what we love. We love much less than what there is. And to this precise extent, we are much less than what we are.

You, if you are a loving person, will rule words and not allow words to rule you. You will tell yourself what this word means only after you find out by experience what it means; not by believing what people have told you it means.

I’m talking about a person who loves himself as being someone who realizes that you can only give away what you have, and so you damned well better work at getting something. You want to be the most educated, the most brilliant, the most exciting, the most versatile, the most creative individual in the world, because then you can give it away; and

So the study of love has brought me to the study of life. To live in love is to live in life, and to live in life is to live in love.

It is only with the heart that one can see rightly; what is essential is invisible to the eye.’

I am beginning to believe that maybe the truly mentally healthy individual is the one who has the most alternatives, the most viable alternatives. A person who can say, “If this doesn’t happen, what else and what else and what else, is possible?”
