In my opinion, it's very difficult to succeed as a discretionary trader. I'd encourage everyone to consider trading on a systematic or mechanical basis. Not a discretionary basis.

Successful sustainable traders generally execute repetitive behaviour that requires relatively little thinking and much ‘doing’. Doing like collecting data, looking for setups, executing trades and managing positions. Much is normalized repetitive behaviour identifying preferred and recognizable setups and applying consistent and sensible trade pla
