When I speak of “truth,” I’m speaking of the truth of mathematicians, the absolute and eternal truth, what some people like to write as Truth, or TRUTH, or sometimes even TRUTH. This sort of truth is

The question that matters is how desperately one seeks to reach his goal, whatever that goal may be. If he desperately wishes to reach his goal . . . if he longs for a particular outcome . . . he will not be swayed by sweetnes

Attempts at originality can often feel forced and precious, but authenticity has quiet resonance that never fails to stir me. Just say what you want to say, then, and say it with all your heart. Share whatever you are driven to share. If it’s authentic enough, believe me—it will feel original.

Trying to tell the truth about someone else is challenging and, in the end, uninteresting. The most interesting writing, the most interesting questions, the most interesting life comes when we’re able to tell the truth about ourselves.

If we want to build great scenes that produce great work, we need serious people to be honest with themselves and each other. I am committed to spending the rest of my life trying to be a beacon for serious players to find and connect with each other.
