The part of you that knows this to be true is your intuition. It has always been there. We have simply developed a habit of not listening to or trusting what it says.
Have you ever had that experience? Where you know something deep down that defies logic and reason? Whether you call it gut instinct or intuition, it’s wise to listen.
Emotions are merely signposts, suggestions that our neurobiology gives us, not commandments. Therefore, we shouldn’t always trust our own emotions.
Intuitively we know that trusting our feelings usually leads us in the right direction. However, trusting our feelings takes on a whole new level of credibility when we realize that our body is forever receiving information, picking up subtle signals from our environment and transmitting them to us through this means. Our body feels information.
The process of knowing yourself can seem mystical, but I see it as eminently practical. It starts with noticing what resonates with you.
