Deficient first chakra types need to discover their ground. They respond well to working while standing and using exercises that charge the body (see Grounding Exercise, this page). They need encouragement to form themselves and maintain that form, which can be strengthened through challenge. Boundary exercises are very useful.
To avoid overwhelming the nervous system, it is important to first establish some kind of anchor or ground that can be accessed when the going gets rough.
