Artist statement 1-14-25

Combining mediums has always been of great interest to me. Experimentation to see how different mediums can interact and work together visually. In my practice I am interested in how illustration, printmaking, and embroidery, and animation/experimental film can work together to convey visual narrative and interesting themes.

Moving away from home at 18 and again at 30, both transitional times in a life, provided both excitement and challenge. Living far away from family and dear friends has, at times, been lonely. I have found solace in the natural world around me and it has helped me to feel at home.

The series of self

1. I've always enjoyed envisioning and designing the objects and scenes around me, it became a way of comforting myself. I started imagining different worlds afterwards and characters and it felt like home.
