There is a wisdom in Winter’s hush that cannot be accessed through effort. It reveals itself only through receptivity, through allowing ourselves to be shaped by silence rather than filling it.

As we descend into the darkness towards Winter Solstice, I feel fortified by this practice of dreaming with the land, ready to meet the long nights with the intention to dream into the stillness and return to the potter’s wheel once again to be remade.

Dreaming with the land is a practice we can explore throughout the year but since we are naturally drawn inwards and downwards during the Winter, and it is the season when the external world grows quieter and our energy settles closer to the bone, it is the ideal time to cultivate the qualities of stillness and listening that dreaming asks of us.

When we allow ourselves to vision new worlds, especially in these long, Winter nights, we enter into a partnership with the imaginal realm, a place where intuition, archetype, and ancestral memory converge.
