Really, I think that the spirit of childlike, untrammeled curiosity is what we’re striving for. Not the anal retentive rational person, not the I’ll-go-for-anything channeling flake, but an attitude of: we don’t have to look far for miracles because they’re all around us. ... See moreAll children live in a world rich with surprises. Each new thing, no matter how ordinary, inspires a sense of wonder and delight. But novelty naturally declines with age, and our surroundings begin to dull with familiarity.
Opening oneself to wonder requires faith. To be vulnerable when confronted with the unknown is frightening. If we do not feel a bit lost when talking about wonder, then we are probably not within its realm.
