Becoming God's Friend: Understanding Your Growth from Servant to Friend

When God gave us all things that pertain to life and godliness, He told us the same thing. We are no longer servants, who need to be told what to do each day. We are friends, adults in faith, trusted with the principles needed to live as God would live in this world.

God will use you. There is the key. God will, not God might. Your time of service is coming. Get yourself ready. God knows when you are ready to serve. He knows when there is work to be done. God knows when you are the right man or woman to do the job. Your task is to be ready.

If I have a part of my life that I will not bring in submission to Jesus, if I will not obey Him in every way, I am not His friend.

Family ties often cause that delay with us as do many other things. Be it career ambitions or pleasure-seeking activities or whatever holds our attention, these pursuits can halt our spiritual growth.

Why you choose to follow God says as much about your perception of Him as anything I know.

To grow toward friendship with God, we must see the world as he sees it.

God’s view of those things is always spiritual. He always sees them from the standpoint of eternity. We should, too.
