In nature, some seeds lie dormant in anticipation of the season most conducive to their growth. This is true of art as well. There are ideas whose time has not yet come. Or perhaps their time has come, but you are not yet ready to engage with them. Other times, developing a different seed may shed light on a dormant one.
For you if you need it. And if it’s not for you, keep strolling on and leave it for those that do. I say all of this as someone who values vision-setting and setting stretchy goals for myself, while also valuing; slowness, silence, paying attention to my capacity, rest and seeming ‘nothingness’. I say this as someone who understands that slowness and rest doesn’t equal passivity. Buying into external urgency and false timelines is a form of self-sabotage in my eyes. Which is why I firmly believe that your year begins when you choose. But I like looking to nature for that guidance, even in the simplest ways, and I’ve found it to work very well!
