Storytellers have a superpower. They can make people feel good and whole and right. They can inspire and inform. They can make people see the world in a new way. They can make people feel better about themselves.

“People are attracted to stories because we’re social creatures and we relate to other people,”4 says Johns Hopkins researcher Keith Quesenberry.

“The story is the basic unit of human understanding.” I love that definition. I use stories to increase understanding of something—a process, perspective, or motivation.
