mac tip → make your activity monitor icon show information
launch terminal and enter in
defaults write com.apple.ActivityMonitor IconType -int 5
you can change the 5 at the end with one of the following…
0 → default
2 → show network usage over time
3 → show disk usage over time
5 → show current cpu usage as vertical meter
6 → show cpu history graphed over
