my thoughts are that this could be insanely traumatic for someone who really struggled with the decision to abort and it could induce a lot of extra unnecessary pain. the idea that that strangers need to persuade people with medical information to try to keep the fetus does not sit right with me. The other side of that argument would be that it doesn’t hurt anyone and honestly maybe having that extra procedure has changed ppl’s minds about keeping their baby. BUT to assume a pregnant person is not fit to make the decision prior to the appointment in situations where they don’t want to do it and are only complying bc of policy is incredibly infantilizing and comes back to issues of maintaining control over minds via control over out bodies.
