There's quite a few articles have been written in papers and magazines in in Israel talking about Moses actually on psychedelic drugs and leading the people to those sacred mushrooms this is from a newspaper article Hebrew university researcher says Moses was tripping at mount Sinai showing that uh even in Israel.

My own contention is that Stropharia cubensis, or a conspecific coprophilic species, was well established in Africa, Anatolia, and perhaps the Iranian Plateau millennia before the coming of the Indo-Europeans.
