1. direct emotional processing –– deliberately feel the emotion you're avoiding
2. reality engaged processing i.e. processing emotion thru action –– create tiny, manageable encounters with the scary situation & let

1. ground: find neutral body area (hands/feet). explore its boundaries
2. rest: settle into this neutral space. notice texture, shape, edges
3. roam: let attention wander freely throughout body, like an unleashed dog following its nose
