mayak eggs • aka egg jang • maybe the term “mayak eggs” will soon disappear and it’ll be called egg jang (Gyeran-jang). I think marinated eggs must have originally come from another banchan called jangjorim, where beef is braised in a soy marinade with eggs and served cold. Someone took the beef out of jangjorim, and it evolved into mayak eggs.... See more
