There's a funny thing that happens sometimes in some studio movies. You're watching a space drama about the power of love starring Matthew McConaughey and Anne Hathaway when-- SURPRISE! Matt Damon.

Matt Damon has built a reputation for random, memorable cameo appearances --"Interstellar", of course, "Eurotrip","Thor: Ragnarok", No Sudden Move, "Oppenheimer" and of course, SNL. And it's always a good time. The man never phones it in. Truly, no small parts. He shows up and lets you know you made a good decision today.

Well, consider early aughts icon Justin Long. An indie Matt Damon, if you will. He'll pop up, do the damn thing and keep it moving on to the next sneak attack.

You know Justin Long, "Jeepers Creepers", Dodgeball, "He's just not that into you", "Accepted" and, of course.. "Zack and Miri make a porno." He was also 'a Mac' and, in one of the great betrayals of the century-- suggested that you "Go PC".

But, my favorite thing about Señor Long is his current era of born-again Scream King. In a sense, he's gone back to his horror roots and it's been such a sight for sore Jeepers Peepers; consistently delivering and elevating what could or would otherwise be a forgettable or underfunded indie into consistent cult classic status. Justin Long has become the Patron Saint of the small, the spooky and the weird.
