Sublime

The light came into the darkness and did ordinary work.

The Word gave life to everything that was created, and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness can never extinguish it. JOHN 1:4–5 NLT

This light later came to live among us as the light of men in Jesus (John 1:4). But we also know that the light of men was also life. Light is often related to life. David tells us in Psalm 36:9, "For with You is life's fountain. In Your light we will see light." God is both light and life. He created life and light, He sustains life and light, and

For God who said, “Let light shine out of darkness,” q has shone in our hearts to give the light of the knowledge r of God’s glory s in the face of Jesus Christ.

“If then your whole body is full of light, having no part dark, it will be wholly bright” (Luke 11:36, RSV). In this saying Jesus invites us to remember who we are: we are light and are witnesses to the light. We are partakers of the divine nature (2 Pet. 1:3, 4).

While on earth, Christ declared that he was the light of the world (John 8:12). Now that he lives in his church, it is we who are called the light of the world (Matthew 5:14).

The glory and brightness of Jesus is on the scene, and darkness is being dispelled more and more every day.
