Empaths feel deeply and absorb the emotions of others, which can be both a gift and a burden, especially when tied to unhealed traumas. What Empaths Feel: Intense Emotions: Experiencing emotions more intensely than others, sometimes without understanding the source. Energy Absorption: Absorbing emotional energy, leading to feeling drained or overwhelmed in social settings. Deep Compassion: A profound sense of empathy and genuine care for others' well-being. Physical Sensations: Experiencing physical symptoms like fatigue or aches in reaction to emotional energy. Intuition: Strong intuitive abilities, sensing beyond the obvious. Tied to Unhealed Traumas: Heightened Sensitivity: Unhealed traumas amplify sensitivity, leading to emotional overwhelm and stress. Boundary Issues: Struggling with setting boundaries, often feeling responsible for others' emotions. Emotional Triggers: Reliving past pain when encountering similar emotions in others. Self-Sacrifice: Neglecting their own needs to focus on helping others, stemming from unresolved issues. Hypervigilance: Constantly alert to emotional disturbances, leading to anxiety and burnout. Healing Path: Empaths need to address unhealed traumas to harness their gift effectively. Healing involves setting boundaries, practicing self-care, and seeking professional help. By doing so, empaths can transform their sensitivity into a powerful tool for empathy and connection, without being overwhelmed by the emotional energies around them. Welcome to the 12th episode of the Slow Travel With Me series! Here are the places featured in this video: 1. Koetsuji Temple A quieter temple in Kyoto, away from the busy tourist spots. When I visited in autumn, the beautiful colors of the maple leaves lit up the entire temple garden. I highly recommend coming in the morning to enjoy the peaceful atmosphere! 2. Koetsu Chaya A cozy café near Koetsuji Temple run by an elderly couple. Sunlight streams into the space, and sitting on tatami with a warm bowl of matcha makes for a wonderfully relaxing afternoon. 3. Susanatsu A small, heartwarming café with a sweet owner and incredibly delicious tea and coffee. The shop also features handmade ceramic works by Okinawan artisans. I bought a teacup made of 40% seashells—it felt like bringing a little piece of Kyoto home with me. I hope you can also experience a slow and relaxing time in Kyoto!
