Cooper Turley • The Rise of Micro-Economies
You're not weird for struggling w/ phone calls. Many trauma survivors experience a very specific spike of anxiety around making (or receiving, for that matter) calls-- & many keep our reactions under wraps, because we're not "supposed" to be triggered by something so "normal."
It's common for complex trauma survivors to feel a little panicky when we feel we're not being listened to or not being perceived or understood accurately. Our nervous system was molded by experiences of being functionally invisible-- & that invisibility leading to pain & shame.
Your responsibility is to your safety, your stability, your needs, your values, & your goals. You don't have to apologize. It doesn't make you "bad" or "selfish" or "mean."
The kindest, most supportive people on earth take care of themselves & honor their needs. Really.
