Closer to river level, La Roque-Gageac presents a more homely scene. From a distance, save for its red-tiled roofs, the village is barely distinguishable from the vertical cliff into which it nestles. This is also one of the best spots in the whole country to hop on a canoe and take a leisurely trip downstream.
