I talked to a friend who wants to start a blog and wanted some advice on that—how to find her voice and so on. A few random thoughts:

Once you realize that your most important job as a parent is to be a good role model, you go, oh, good dear. I need to improve. And that means kids are a wonderful forcing function for living a richer better life.
