It’s not a great salary but many people in Brooklyn live on less, and n+1 doesn’t have Steve Jobs’s widow paying the bills. OTOH, n+1 lets you call a genocide a genocide, unlike the editor of The Atlantic, who volunteered as an Israeli prison guard. Life is full of tradeoffs.
