There are very few PMs who are Great (and I am not one of them. At least yet.)
Because the difference between Good and Great is HUUUUGE.
It's not that Good PMs don't do the right things.
It is just that the Great PMs do the right things consistently.
For any new feature I'm specifying, I start with this simple process:
1. Map user decisions (not screens)
2. Identify context needed for each decision
3. Create the simplest possible representation
4. Get feedback on DECISIONS, not visuals
Let me break this down:
