Psychotherapist John Bradshaw’s clear-sighted definition of patriarchy in Creating Love is a useful one: “The dictionary defines ‘patriarchy’ as a ‘social organization marked by the supremacy of the father in the clan or family in both domestic and religious functions.…’ Patriarchy is characterized by male domination and power.”

The child within is our original identity which knows how to love and trust freely.

Discipline is the act of any loving Father whose child is walking in rebellion.

The parenting rules used in most Western world families create massive shame. Add alcoholism, incest and physical abuse to these systems, and you get major dysfunctionality.

Pride makes us forget God just as much as fear does.
