I read recently about “joining a tradition you respect” when deciding on your career/life’s work and I really enjoy that line of thinking

To succeed and be happy in this world, you have to have a very, very thick skin. If you are outraged, hurt, upset or unable to bounce back from things....this world is going to chew you up, and spit you out. Hard truth: Thick skin required.

Every successful person you admire survived a season you didn’t see.

One thing I’ve learned as a therapist is that behavior *always* makes sense from the person’s perspective. If the behavior didn’t make sense to them, they wouldn’t DO it. So instead of getting mad… find out *why* it makes sense to them.
