@CostaSamaras: "Bourdain was basically a Mr. Rogers for grownups. Telling us to not be afraid of people and things that are different than us. RIP."

Anthony Bourdain, like Fran Liebowitz, has become an untouchable. That said, how can you not love a man who said, "Is there any place left in New York where an old guy can have a drink in the afternoon and, you know, be a little depressed?"

Bourdain wasn’t out to sell an experience or show how good something could be — every episode was about telling the story of things exactly as they are.
