This will be a theme of my book: modern theologies of the New Testament were failures from a Christian point of view precisely because what they ended up offering was bad history, bad theology, or both.

If a church moves in a less complementarian direction, some will wonder if this is the first step to full-fledged egalitarianism or, worse still (in their minds), secular feminism.

Our task is to display the richness of what Jesus offers his people in believing a gospel that creates a sense of belonging we can experience nowhere but in the church and a behavior that will allow us to live in line with and more fully experience the God who created us.
