to own a dog was aspirational, it signalled you had settled into a neighbourhood, you knew its parks, you maybe had a partner to share the walking and fawning duties, perhaps a precursor to having children.

When Fritz lost the use of his back legs, his owner refused to give up on him. Using old roller skate parts, he built a custom set of wheels—giving Fritz a second chance at zooming through life. Now, his buddy Stephanie straps on her skates and they roll out together.
