The Ffern Folk Foundation Today, on St George’s Day, we are thrilled to launch the Ffern Folk Foundation - and share its emblem, embellished with flowers, oak leaves and insects by @lukastheillustrator 🐞 At Ffern, we’ve always sought to connect people with nature. The Folk Foundation is our next step in pursuit of this quest. We believe that folk can help us all explore and enrich our relationship with the natural world, and that more people should be able to take part in folk traditions. The central pillar of the Foundation is our annual grant of £50,000. This will fund one or more British Folk practitioners to progress their work and bring it to a wider audience. We’re delighted to announce that Boss Morris (@boss.morris) are the grant’s inaugural recipients. Founded in 2015, Boss Morris’ joyful reimagining of traditional Morris dancing has quickly made them a prominent feature in the British Folk landscape. Applications are now open for 2026!
