Gaia

Wiccans call on Gaia to assist in various forms of divination. She is also invoked for magic involving transformation of all kinds, and bringing creative projects to fruition, along with abundance and prosperity.

the more we resonate with the heart of Earth, the more we open up vast spaces within ourselves.

For many in the environmental movement, Gaia has come to symbolize the planet Earth itself, and she is often represented in contemporary art as a pregnant woman, with the globe painted onto her protruding belly. Ancient Greek artists portrayed her as a voluptuous woman stretched out on the Earth, or rising up out of it.

Perhaps we should add the letter i to our planet’s name, and call it “Eairth,” in order to remind ourselves that the “air” is entirely a part of the eairth, and the i, the I or self, is wholly immersed in that fluid element.

But when we practice earth-based art and healing with integrity, we can find ways of paying back, coming into alignment with Nature, and righting the wrong life-styles we have been forced to exist within.
