Venus is almost always depicted as a beautiful and voluptuous young woman, and is symbolized by roses, doves, trees, pine cones, and wild berries.

Deities from ancient pantheons who often represent the Maiden include the Greek goddesses Artemis and Persephone, the Nordic goddess Freya, and the Celtic goddess Rhiannon.

Odin’s hall, and Freyja’s, hold “all men who have fallen in battle since the beginning”, but they will be too few “when the wolf comes”, as Fenrir inevitably will at the Ragnarök. Kings and their retinues are therefore especially welcome, with the Valkyries serving wine for such a royal entrance.

And although she has other domains as well, including prosperity and victory in war, she has remained throughout time as a symbol of the undeniable power of the feminine.

The Maiden’s domains include art, creativity, beauty, intelligence, exploration, discovery, and self-expression. She is associated with dawn, sunrise, fresh potential, and new life.
